Penn State Riot Coverage

  • It seems evident from the arc of this "riot" that although the students felt like getting their voices heard and congregating and breaking things, their total unwillingness to continue the demonstration once the police started lifting a finger should give you an idea of just how serious and deep their concerns really were. Some of them, no doubt, wanted to break stuff because of how mad they were about Paterno's ouster. And a lot of them wanted to break stuff because breaking stuff when you're 19 and probably not sober is a lot of fun. Illegal at times, but a lot of fun. But that's not worth reading too much into, in the grand scheme of Things We Have Learned About Penn State And College Football, if we're being honest.
