Think it's possible for 'Bama to manage it, Dennis. But I'd also be surprised.
They WILL disguise blitzes. No one does that better than Nick. Chavis is a very close second.
I've seen Nick's defenses wait until the quarterback audibles then jump into something completely different. Basically baiting the QB.
I asked Les if he's been watching like 5 min of Alabama film each week and he said definitely no.
You're not going to see two better coached defenses than you will in this game, I think that much is for sure. Be interesting to see if Chavis can free Mathieu on a blitz, the Honey Badger is a wrecking ball if he gets to the QB
Jerry makes a good point. Honey B is going to be fired up for this after the suspension.
LSU has played five ranked teams. Ala 3. That doesn't include Penn State which is now 8-1.
Nick always seems worried. He'd be worried if he was vacationing on a deserted island.
Maybe "no shot" is an exaggeration. But LSU thrives on big plays in a way 'Bama doesn't. It took two bombs to Randle to really get the Tigers going vs. Auburn ... and quite obviously, Alabama is a different monster than Auburnwas.
I see a lot of SOS stuff here. Irrelevant in this case. The angle is how far each program has separated itself from the field.
Lee, the problem is that both those offenses had some success vs. the LSU D. WVU threw for 480-plus yards and Oregon had some yards on the ground. Both those games turned on massive LSU special teams plays, not lockdown defense.
