Just talked with some folks at the track - basically the story is if the green flag can't fly by 10 pm ET the race will be moved to tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET and air on ESPN - but the skies are clearing so stay tuned
7:55 p.m. ET -- Jet dryers have fired up to begin track drying efforts. Takes approximately 75-90 minutes to dry the track. But it appears more rain could be on the way.
Report from MRN Radio is more rain is indeed on the horizon but drying continues
Still moving ahead with now an 8:45 p.m. ET call for driver intros and 9:15 p.m. ET although that seems very optimistic - we shall see
8:45 p.m. ET -- Cars are on pit road, uncovered. We may just get this thing going soon.
Looks like a light rain has returned to the track. Track drying continues.
9:06 p.m. ET -- Pre-race activities are under way.
Still hearing it's "spitting" at the track
Drivers are in their cars getting ready to roll. Should be starting engines soon. #nascar
Be honest guys - do you want this tonight and perhaps not be able to go all the way or tomorrow when it's assured the full distance?
All clear now, but still seems to be a lot of rain around the area, could be hit and miss. #nascar
Drivers get the starting command. #nascar
Engines fired - not feeling confident about a full race guys sorry
